Fuyuki Enokido Profile
Born in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
Began to play the KOTO at the age of 3. Studied the KOTO under the great aunt Miko Kobashi (professor at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) , younger brother of Michio Miyagi, till 1980.
First stage in 1980 Mikiko Kobashi Koto concert (at Nagatacho National Theater). After that, performed every year in the concert.In 2000, she graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music with a graduate degree and received the Acanthus Music Award, which is given by the university to the top performing students at the time of graduation. Completed the graduate school music course at the university.
Performed in New Zealand official festival by the Japan Foundation grant in 1991. It was the first overseas performance. Since then, she has performed in official events in more than 30 countries including Germany, Turkey, Italy, Vietnam, France, Thailand.
In 2012, appointed as Japan cultural envoy by Agency for Cultural Affairs, Cultural Affairs Bureau of Cultural Affairs. Requested to perform her play at the London Olympics Japan House in one of the programs for Japan’s bid to host the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
In 2014, requested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs to perform in Swiss 150th anniversary project Kickoff event. Performed at the OECD High Level Meeting and Japan-China Culture Ministerial Meeting.
In 2015, performed in Milan Expo 2015 at the request of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Played together with Vienna Boys Choir at the Austrian ambassador’s residence Makoto for Empress Michiko Birthday Celebration. Invited to Tokyo Olympic Paralympic Games 2020 Organizing Committee.
In 2016, appointed by Mr. Yukio Takano, mayor of Toshima-ku, as Cultural Art Special Ambassador Adviser. Received a letter of appreciation from Mr. Makoto Taketoshi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria. Performed in the G7 Ise Shima Summit 2016 for President Obama, President Hollande, President Renzi, President Trudeau, President Merkel, Prime Minister Cameron, and Prime Minister Abe. Requested by Tokyo to perform during the Rio Para Olympics TOKYO 2020. Received a letter of appreciation from Mr. Yamamoto Tsuyoshi, Consul General of Rio de Janeiro. Performed in official events organized by at the Japanese government tourism and tourism agency. In 2017, featured with Ikenobo, Ichiyo, and Ohara Iemoto at Ikebana International (Honorable President Hisako Takamado). Performed in WORLD GOVERNMENT SUMMIT, organized by Dubai government. Invited to Toshima-ku hosted Tokyo 2020 Olympic Paralympic Games Flag Tour. Showed up in Japanese Government Internet TV. Co-starred with the Bulgarian National Sophia Philharmonic Orchestra. Held a recital at the world heritage Guel church in Gaudi design. Appeared at the birth reception of the Emperor, hosted by the Consul-General of Barcelona in Barcelona. Performance at the official dinner of the IOC General Assembly 5th Coordination Meeting.
2018
Invited to a talk session with Ambassador of Venezuelan privilege and plenipotentiary at the 2018 Honorable New Year’s Concert. Vietnamese presidential honor audition performed by the Japanese government. Played at the Green Sports Alliance Summit 2018 in Atlanta Mercedes Benz Stadium, in front of Co-founder of Home Depot Mr. Arthur Blank.

Fuyuki ENOKIDO begann mit dem Erlernen des Koto-Spiels im Alter von drei Jahren bei ihrer Großtante. Bereits im Alter von vier hatte sie ihren ersten großen Auftritt im Tokyoter Nationaltheater. Es folgten zahlreiche Konzerte, auch im Ausland. Nach der Schule studierte Fuyuki Enokido Musikwissenschaften an der Hochschule der Künste in Tokyo – ein Studium, das sie als Beste ihres Jahrgangs abschloss. Ihr erster Auslandsauftritt führte sie – sie war damals Schülerin der 9. Klasse – nach Neuseeland, ein Jahr später gab sie mehrere Konzerte in Deutschland, im Jahr darauf trat sie in Istanbul auf. Inzwischen hat sie in über 30 Ländern weltweit Konzerte gegeben, ist Preisträgerin mehrerer Wettbewerbe und komponiert auch eigene Stücke. Ein besonderes Anliegen ist es ihr, auch in Japan selbst etwas für das Verständnis der traditionell japanischen Kultur und Musik zu tun. Vor diesem Hintergrund suchte sie den Kontakt zum Fernsehen, wo sie bereits in zahlreichen Programmen zu sehen und zu hören war. Ihren Deutschlandaufenthalt möchte sie u.a. dazu nutzen, ein Netzwerk mit Musikern westlicher Musikrichtungen aufzubauen und durch eine Zusammenarbeit mit diesen eine Erweiterung der Möglichkeiten des traditionell japanischen Instrumentes Koto auszuloten.
